IMPORTANT: If you booked, or consider booking a property with reported problems, then we highly recommend that you check with the reception for all your excursion pick-ups and/or expected visitors.
Many properties have their own tour operator and just don't want to loose the commission, even if it's uncomfortable for their guests. In other occasions, tour reps from big international tour operators are getting a very little fixed salary and need to make it up with the commissions by selling excursions to their guests, that's why they pressure the properties to have this policy, to make sure their reps can make some extra money.
We condemn this policy and therefore list a few of the problems and name the properties that have stated this policy or never got back to us when we asked for a clarification.
Reputable excursion suppliers have been denied access to pickup guests.
Guests had to walk to main-gate in any weather condition.
Guests had to be dropped of at the main-gate and walk back to hotel lobby.
It has been impossible for reputable excursion suppliers to register with the properties for guest pick-up.
Property reply: "we have service contracts with other companies".
Property reply: "we are making an exception requested by a guest".
Property reply: "since we handle the accesses to our private property you won't be able to access our hotel.
